Both El Nido and Coron belong to the same province of Palawan. It is not accessible by land travel as they are separate islands. Some people travel by plane to El Nido and back to Manila to take another flight to Busuanga (Coron). But, you don’t have to go back to the capital to explore these gorgeous islands.
There is now a direct flight between El Nido and Coron but it’s limited. So, the most popular mode of inter-island transport, for now, is by ferry. There is a daily boat schedule from El Nido to Coron and from Coron to El Nido.
Flying from EL Nido to Coron and vice-versa
Airswift has 2x weekly trips between El Nido and Coron on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The fare is around Php4,000 one-way and seats are sold easily so you will have to book in advance to reserve a seat. The flight is only about 40 minutes so it’s the most convenient option if you can adjust your itinerary to fit the flight schedule. AirSwift used to fly daily but they reduced the frequency as of now. They’ll probably go back to operating daily during the peak season in the summer.
Taking a Ferry from El Nido to Coron and vice-versa
The most popular way of getting to Coron from El Nido and vice-versa is by taking a fastcraft ferry which will take around 4 hours. Before the pandemic, there were more than five shipping companies that operate this route but currently, there are only three: Montenegro, Bunso Transport, and Atienza Interisland Ferries.
